Ranger Boats is a big business in Arkansas. They sell bass boats. It was founded by Forrest Lee Wood in 1968. Wood was born on June 9, 1932 in Flippen Arkansas. On April 21, 1951, Wood married Nina Kirkland and had four daughters. They returned to Flippen in 1955, and Wood started working as a private guide on Bull Shoals Lake, the White River, Buffalo River, and Crooked Creek. Ranger Boats started making boats in 1968 and sold 6. In 1969, they sold 600 boats, and in 1970, they sold 1200 boats. On May 4, 1971, the boat factory was destroyed because of fire, and fortunately Wood was able to salvage 60 boat orders. Gladly, Ranger Boats was back business in 40 days. Ranger Boats remained "The official Bassmaster Classic boat through 2000. In 1996, a tournament organization called Operation Bass was renamed using Wood's initials;FLW. In 1998, governor Mike Huckabee appointed Wood to a seven-year term, his final year as chairman. In 2005, the AFGC named their new nature center in Jonesboro the Forrest L. Wood Crowley's Ridge Nature Center. Wood is in the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame, National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, National Marine Manufacturers Hall of Fame, Legend of the Outdoors Hall of Fame, and the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame. He also recieved the 2007 Golden Glow Award by the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers. The Woods opened Forrest L. Wood Outdoor Sports Gallery to the public in 2005, and live in still live in Flippen.

Soon his buisness grew out of arkansas and into the USA.Today the store is still successful and
still has low prices.Now,walmart is in other countries.
